My Story
Hello and Welcome, I am Annika Vels, a Naturopathic Doctor registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. I studied at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where I completed my internship year at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic on the sports medicine focus shift, and at Sherbourne Health Centre serving the underprivileged and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in downtown Toronto. Previously studying at the University of Guelph, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science with a minor in psychology.
I am passionate about providing inclusive and trauma-informed healthcare, while empowering patients to be confident about taking charge of their own health. Balancing evidence-based medicine with a holistic approach, I truly enjoy working with patients on a wide range of health concerns including but not limited to fertility, prenatal care, hormonal health, and mental health. In my practice, I use various treatment modalities including nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture, and lifestyle modification to develop an individualized, long-term health plan for each patient. Combined with my training in Reiki, I believe in the importance of integrating mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical factors into treatment.
When I am not seeing patients, I get to spend my time working on the family’s horse farm in Erin or in the gym training for the next running adventure!
