Denise Belgrave, Registered Psychotherapist (Qual)

"Throughout the journey of my life, I have come to an understanding that to achieve balance in life one must be willing to keep a clear destination in mind. This involves enjoying the beautiful moments along the way and being willing to change destination when life begins to take you in a different direction. The nature of life is one of constant change and fluctuations. However, when we can accept the rhythm of ebb and flow in our lives, we allow ourselves the option of being firm yet flexible. It is my belief that the strength of the relationship between the client and therapist is a unique one. It forms a vehicle for inquiry and growth. Establishing a warm and caring atmosphere, while demonstrating empathic listening, creates a pathway in addressing issues which the client has had difficulty acknowledging and identifying. Building rapport with the client develops trust, creating greater awareness that as an individual they have the power, ability, and strength to address their personal concerns through introspection. In exploring and identifying their concerns, clients can reflect while revisiting their life experiences by travelling through the uncharted waters of their thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviours. Throughout my 25+ years of working with individuals, I have been fortunate to be able to provide counselling in a variety of settings including one-to-one therapeutic, group, and employee assistance programs where I worked with clients addressing their emotional concerns and mental health care. I have worked in a wide range of scenarios in various cultural settings. These include working with school-aged children as an in-house counsellor for youths, adults, families, seniors, and the sick. Each required integrative approaches of therapy. It is my belief that seeking therapy is the first step to acknowledging and recognizing there is an issue. The process of therapy will take you on a journey to explore issues both in and out of therapy while working on your concerns. It will assist with a deeper and better understanding of oneself and situations by the release of long-standing burdens of accumulated negative emotions, thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. The positive changes include healthier coping skills and an improvement in the way you think, feel, and behave and ultimately provides a sense of closure, relief, and healing.

I offer a free 15 minute meet and greet virtual appointment. This is a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about working with me. I encourage you to take the first step and reach out. I look forward to working with you"
